The Ship Route to the Männäinen market

An ancient sea route crosses the Velhovesi body of water, along which traders sailed to Kalanti and along the Sirppujoki River to Männäinen and its market. The Inhamo Bridge crosses the Sirppujoki River along this historic ship route. Hundreds of ship loads of goods were transported every year, so the Sirppujoki delta was once a busy port and loading area.
