Reporting noise 

A written notification must be submitted to the environmental protection authority of the City of Uusikaupunki for activities that cause particularly disturbing temporary noise or vibration. Such activities include stone crushing, certain excavation procedures, demolition and construction works, motor sports competitions and outdoor concerts organised in the evening or at night.  Based on the notification, the environmental protection authority will make a decision in which it may give orders to reduce the noise nuisance. 
 
If the activity takes place in the areas of more than one municipality, the notification must be submitted to the regional environmental centre in whose area of operation the noise and vibration will mainly occur. In the Southwest Finland region, notifications must be submitted to the Southwest Finland ELY centre. 
 
Notifications must be submitted in good time and no later than 30 days before the start of the activity.
