Hakametsä daycare centre

Hakametsä is a comfortable and functional daycare centre.  The environment offers ample opportunities for learning, playing and hiking in nature. 

The city centre is within walking distance from the daycare centre.  There are lakes, forests and parks nearby, as well as an ice rink, a fitness trail, ski slopes and several playgrounds. Hakametsä daycare centre is right next to Hakametsä school, which the daycare centre often collaborates with. The yard area includes a small forest that is shared with the school, with laavu bivouacs and a campfire site. 

It is important that each child is seen and heard, and that they feel accepted. Children are often organised into small groups. Each group has a padlet wall, allowing the children’s families to view their children’s activities online.

At Hakametsä, cultural diversity is seen as a strength. Diversity is richness! 

Groups

There are 4 groups in the daycare centre: Peukaloiset for 1-3 yrs, Tiitiäiset and Menninkäiset for 3-5 yrs and Menninkäiset, and Metsämörrit for 6 yrs.
