Children's and young people's library
Library and school's co-operation
School and kindergarten groups are welcome at the library. Visits can be organised for learning about library usage, book recommendations or for borrowing books, for example.
You can arrange a library visit or a book recommendation by sending an email or calling children section of the library. If you want to borrow books before opening hours, you can do it after 9 a.m. You can also ask a librarian to join a parents-teacher meeting, for example.
Supplementary reading material for schools
- Kalanti library offers supplementary reading material to students attending Uusikaupunki schools. Please ask for more information at Kalanti library. If necessary, upon agreement, the mobile library may deliver books to schools on its route. You can ask for current supplementary reading lists at the main library, Kalanti library, or the mobile library.
- Schools can also borrow material from the Turku Learning Materials Centre archives. Teachers may order books from the Learning Materials Centre. The material will be delivered to the Uusikaupunki library along with other Vaski deliveries.

- Storytimes are intended for children of all ages, but children under 2 years old should be accompanied by a parent or carer.
- During storytimes, new picture books and graphic books related to different topics are read out. Guest performers from the field of children's culture sometimes also participate in storytimes.
