Wastewater Treatment

The wastewater treatment and purification services are provided by Vakka-Suomi Vesi Public Enterprise.

The mission of Vakka-Suomi Vesi is to produce high-quality wastewater treatment services for the industrial and household needs of its operating area, in a cost-effective manner and in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. Vakka-Suomi Vesi is the most significant environmental operator in its region, achieving all its set objectives and actively striving to improve its operations.

Vakka-Suomi Vesi is a municipal enterprise wholly owned by the City of Uusikaupunki.

Vakka-Suomi Vesi acts as a wholesale wastewater purifier and has two customers: Uusikaupunki Vesi and the City of Laitila. The purification services are carried out at the Häpönniemi purification plant in Uusikaupunki. The charge for the purification service is based on the amount of wastewater received from the enterprise's customers.
