Student welfare in Sixth Form

On this page

Student welfare is aimed at supporting and promoting students' psychological, physical and social wellbeing in the school community.

Student welfare includes a collaborative student welfare team whose tasks include improving health, safety, social responsibility and accessibility in the learning environment. The team includes a school nurse, school counsellor, psychologist, the principal, a tutor, and a teacher, as well as student representatives. The team holds meetings at least twice a school year, or more often if necessary.

The team offers personalised study support, including offering students the opportunity to visit the school nurse, counsellor or psychologist, as well as access to an expert group, focused on dealing with each student’s specific issues. The goal is prevention and early intervention in order to deal with students’ concerns and obstacles to learning.

Psychologist and counsellor services

If requested by a student or guardian, the student is provided with the opportunity to talk with a student psychologist or counsellor. Likewise, if a member or members of the sixth form personnel deem it necessary that a student meet with the psychologist or counsellor. The psychologist or counsellor then assesses the urgency of the matter based on the information they have received. The psychologist or counsellor will also determine the kind of support and/or guidance the student needs and direct them to other study-related services or support services as needed.

Healthcare services

During the autumn semester, all first-year students undergo a health check, which is carried out by a school nurse and doctor. Invitations to the health checkup are sent via Wilma.
