Lättähattu museojuna

Join us in celebrating the centennial history of the Uusikaupunki railway aboard the "Lättähattu" train. The "Lättähattu" will travel from Turku to Uusikaupunki on Friday, August 2nd, and Saturday, August 3rd, with two trains each day. The second train on Friday (designation MUS 1923) is scheduled to arrive in Uusikaupunki exactly 100 years after the first train.

On Friday, both Turku to Uusikaupunki trains will feature presentations on the history and phases of the Turku-Uusikaupunki railway by Markku Nummelin, a long-time railway professional and passionate railway enthusiast. Nummelin has also written a book on the Turku-Naantali-Uusikaupunki railway, which will be available for purchase on the train.

You can board the train at intermediate stations or travel from Uusikaupunki to Turku and back. The trains will stop at Raisio, Mynämäki, Nousiainen, and Vinkkilä. Please note that the station buildings are privately owned. Please respect private property when boarding the train. In Uusikaupunki, the train will arrive at the Kalaranta stop. There will be ample time to explore the nearby area, visit museums, and enjoy a meal or coffee.

Strollers and larger luggage can be transported free of charge in the train's luggage compartment. Please note that the train is not accessible, and boarding involves steep steps from the ground or a low platform, except in Turku.

Welcome to a nostalgic journey celebrating the centennial of the Uusikaupunki railway!
