Free movie platform Cineast opens up for library users

Cineast is a free movie platform, where you log in with your library card number and its associated PIN-number. Ask a librarian for your PIN-number, if you don't have one or you've forgotten it. You can also change your PIN-number in the online library (vaski.finna.fi, change the language from the "Suomi" button in the upper right), by choosing "Forgot your PIN code?" underneath the login button. If the email account linked to your library account is still in use, you can change the PIN-code yourself.

In Cineast you can find a wide variety of regularly updated quality content, that includes both fact and fiction for all ages. Useful filters, such as filtering by genre or reviews, help in finding something suitable to watch. Material can be found in a variety of different languages, and all movies have subtitles in both Finnish and Swedish, and sometimes also English. Loaning is easy - to to the Cineast website, choose "VASKI" from the library selection, choose a movie, and input your library card number and your PIN-code in the given fields.

A movie is considered a loan as soon as it starts. If you're not sure, if you want to use a loan for a specific movie, you can watch a trailer on-site. This does not use up any monthly loans. A movie will stay in your collection for 48 hours since it began. Cineast functions on both a computer, and on phone through an app.

One user can loan up to four movies a month from Cineast. The site functions through prebought licenses, which are used by every watcher. If all licenses are used before the end of the month, no more movies can be loaned until the month changes.
