Janne Tulkki in Captain´s Makasiini

The singer and songwriter, known for his beautiful bass-baritone voice, also plays the tenor saxophone, piano, clarinet, and guitar. Tulkki, who released his first full-length album in 1999, is also known as the winner of the Syksyn Sävel competition in 2001. He won the competition with his song "Yksinäinen pitkä tie" ("Lonely Long Road").

He made his breakthrough in 1999 with the song "Sinisen taivaan sateenkaari" ("Rainbow of the Blue Sky"). His major hits also include "Tulvii Pohjanmaa" ("The Flooding Ostrobothnia"), "Yksinäinen pitkä tie" ("Lonely Long Road"), "Tulinen sydän" ("Fiery Heart"), "Sisältä kultaa" ("Golden Inside"), and "Kulkurin kuu" ("The Vagabond's Moon").
