How to vote in the European Parliament Elections

The European Parliament is a parliamentary representative body of the European Union that enacts legislation and adopts the EU budget together with the Council of the European Union. Furthermore, the European Parliament oversees the work of the Commission and EU agencies.

By voting in the elections, you can have a say on who will represent Finland in the European Parliament for the next five years.

You can vote either during advance voting period 29.5.-4.6.2024 or on actual election day 9.6.2024.  

Voting in advance

In Uusikaupunki, advance polling stations include the Coworking ja etätyötila Messi and a voting bus. Voters can vote in advance at any location. No voting notification is needed, but a valid ID, like a driver's license, passport, police-issued ID card, or a photo Kela card, is required.

Voting on Election Day

On the actual Election Day 9.6., one can only vote at their designated polling station within their voting district, which is indicated in the voter notification sent to each eligible voter. If needed, one can confirm their designated polling station through the Voting Location service provided by Digital and Population data services Agency Polling station service

Voters do not need to bring the voter notification to the polling station. The only requirement is to bring a valid form of identification, such as a driver's license, passport, valid police-issued ID card, or a photo Kela card.
