The current situation in the region has continued to calm down. Infection rates have continued to decline, and origins of infection tracking is more successful. Despite the reduction in infections, this region is still in the spreading stage of the corona virus (COVID-19).
The situation seems to be developing favorably in our region, therefore restrictions on hobbies and teaching can be lightened in accordance with the recommendations of the regional Corona coordination group. However, restrictions on hobbies for those under the age of 20 will not be lifted in Uusikaupunki until May 1, 2021.
April 24, 2021 - Outdoor group hobbies & activities for children and adults are allowed. Group hobbies and activities must be within the gathering limit of six people and social distancing guidelines must be adhered to.
April 26, 2021- In-school teaching will resume for schools and the mask recommendation for grades 4-6 will be lifted. The use of face masks continues in high schools and upper schools.
May 1, 2021- Group exercise in the city's indoor sports facilities will resume for those born in 2001 and younger. To minimize close contact, the use of changing rooms should also be avoided.
All exercises involving close contact are prohibited in indoor sports facilities, and competition and match activities are also prohibited until at least May 15, 2021.
Corona vaccinations are continuing in this region for people aged 65 and over as well as for people who fall within the risk group category. Vaccination time Saturday, April 24, 2021 can be reserved for those aged 65 and over, as well as those in the 1st and 2nd risk groups. People over the age of 65 will receive the Astra Zeneca vaccine and risk groups will receive the Moderna vaccine.

Vaccination time should be booked primarily from your municipality's health center. By the end of this week, approximately 6, 200 vaccines will have been administered in this region.
