Living in Uusikaupunki
The city of Uusikaupunki is working on Walking & Cycling Promotion Program with the aim of encouraging people to move more by muscle power. The national goal is to increase acitve mobility modes by 30 % by the year 2030. There are two factors behind the ambition; to decrease the harmful and costly side effects of immobility and to promote environmentally sound transportation.
City residents and visitors are the best ones to tell what’s good and what’s not on our streets and roads. What are the factors that could motivate you and other people to move more by foot and by bike in Uusikaupunki? A web-based questionnaire has now been launched and we highly appreciate your answers and opinion. You can leave remarks and feedback very precisely on a map and answer multiple choice questions. Tell us for example about poor street lighting or about a dangerous crossing. On the other hand we would like to know which are the most inspiring or attractive places. The last part part of the questionnaire is in Finnish only (related to Central Uusikaupunki Master Plan networks) but the two previous sections are available in English. The information and feedback gained by this survey will form the base of the Walking & Cycling program.
It takes about 10-20 minutes to answer the query and it’s easy. A computer is the most convenient tool for answering, but smartphones and tablets will do the job as well. It is not necessary to answer all the questions. There are computers at libraries and Service Point Passari for use, ask the staff for more information! The questionnaire is open until 12th of December 2021. The results will be revealed in February 2022.
Answer and win prizes! There are three Gift Vouchers to Uudenkaupungin Pyörä bike shop (50-100 €) and Uudenkaupungin Rauha Water Bottles availble for the lucky winners.
Thank you for your participation!
