Living in Uusikaupunki

New residents

Greetings, new Uusikaupunki-dweller!

We are happy that you chose to live in Uusikaupunki. We hope that you enjoy our small seaside town.
Uusikaupunki was founded in 1617, which means that despite its name (‘uusi kaupunki’ = new town), it is rather an old town. Our beautiful, old wooden houses are a big part of our charm. On the other hand, dynamic business life places us firmly on the path to the future.
Our residents tend to enjoy living here. There is a wide range of leisure activities available, and the uncomplicated lifestyle of a small town adds to the cosy atmosphere. The town also provides plenty of services, and local shops will always serve you with a smile.
Uusikaupunki is at its best during the summer. The summer brings with it plenty of travellers, and the town’s seaside atmosphere intensifies. Various kinds of events are organised throughout the year. There is something interesting for everyone.
The City of Uusikaupunki aims to serve the town’s inhabitants as well as possible. We hope you will find all the services you need without any hassle. Service Point Passari, which is located at Rauhankatu 10 in the same building as the Tourist Information Office, is meant for you – there you can get answers to any questions you may have regarding your new home town.

Atso Vainio,
Mayor of Uusikaupunki
